Timberline Fire Protection District (TFPD) was formed on April 1, 2011 when Colorado Sierra Fire Protection District and High Country Fire Protection District were merged to form one district. Burn Permits

Burn permits are required within Gilpin County when you want to burn slash. Permits are valid only when there is at least 4" of snow on the ground. Camp fires are exempt. Logs larger than 6" and tree stumps are not allowed to be burned.
